From tap, lyrical to pop-and-lock show stopper gladly invites all types of dancers to bring their style. Third annual Showstopper is a talent show organized by the Univeristy of Toronto Rise 'N Improvize Dance Club.

The Rise and Improvize (RAI) Dance Club is looking for engineering students to fill the following positions for the upcoming 2009-2010 year. Below is a brief description of the positions available to both Undergrad and Grad Engineering students:
1. Advertising Director:
- Producing posters and media to promote club's events
2. Summer and Open Nights Director:
- Looking for performance venues for dance teams to perform in the summer
- Organizing and promoting Open Dance Nights within UofT Community
3. Assistant Webmaster
4. Treasurer
5. External Director:
- All to do with Sponsorship
Please email rai.danceclub@gmail.com with a 200 word max nomination letter on why you should be considered along with:
1. Your name
2. Discipline and year
3. Student number
4. Interview availability - date and time
5. Availability over the summer
Interviews will take place the week of May 2nd and May 9th.
The RAI End of The Year Party has been scheduled for Thursday May 7th, at 7:30pm (LocationL TBA - downtown Toronto). It is going to be a very casual affair - pizza, drinks, dancing, PRIZES and a small lil award ceremony - again all very casual. Everyone is allowed to bring one guest, and it all will be under RAI's expense. If anyone would love to contribute food - it would be awesome :) Except no nuts/fish.

Choreographers: 5:15-6:15pm (Those interested in choreographing are welcome to attend)

The Rise and Improvize Dance Club is hosting its very own dance show, Showstopper 2009, on Wednesday, March 25th! Location: Cat's Eye, Victoria College, University of Toronto (@ 150 St. Charles W., west of Museum Subway Station)
Are you a talented dancer but you don't know where to showcase your talent? Have your own dance group, but nowhere to perform? Then Showstopper is right for you! We hosted our very own show last year, and this year, it's going to be BIGGER and wayyy BETTER!
From B-boying to Salsa to Bollywood, we are calling out to all performers! Submission requirements are as follows:
Solo, Duos or Trios - $10/solo, duo or trio per performance
Four and above - $15/group per performance
The prices are valid until March 13th! If you pass the deadline, the entry fee is $25 regardless the size! All groups are entitled to free bottles of water on the day of the show. Teams do not have to be solely from UofT. Audience admission is FREE!
Prizes to be won for the most entertaining and best performance group!
1st Prize: Certificate + Monetary prize (TBA)
2nd Prize: Certificate + consolation prize (TBA)
3rd Prize: Certificate

Hi everyone
Welcome to your first RAI Newsletter. Through this media we will inform you of our next events and cheap classes. I would like to thank all those auditioned for the competitive group this week. If anyone missed auditions, then we have good news: RAI will be having its 'Last Chance' audition next week on Wednesday, September 24th from 7:30pm to 9pm in Haultain 401. Auditions are only for those who would like to compete.
